"Try to Remember the Kind of September...."

I have been WAY lame as far as blogging is concerned...so this will be a long post with many pictures and much to catch up on. I can't believe how fast September flew by. Jerry is doing amazing in school which feels so good. To think just this year and next we'll be done with school....HALLELUJIAH it CAN'T come fast enough! I recently got a new calling in our ward. I'm now the Laurel Advisor...which to those of you NOT of my faith I teach the 16 and 17 year old girls on Sundays. I taught my first lesson last week and...it was on chastity. Yep....my first sunday, talkin to girls I've never met about sex. It was awesome... :)...ha ha. It went okay. They are neat girls and I'm excited about the opportunity.

Cohen is now 8 months!!!

He continues to crack us up every day. He is becoming MOBILE!! So we are trying to find creative ways to quickly baby proof the house. He's not CRAWLING but he has got the army scoot down!

He also likes to play games when I'm trying to feed him his baby food. He's started doing this thing where he will tilt his head to one side and look up at me with those beautiful blue eyes and smile....and will not move or eat till I do it too! It's hillarious :)

If you can remember my last post he was sick last month....well the anti biotics for his ear infection ended up givin him a real bad yeast infection so we are trying to get that under control.

Kind of a special thing Jerry and I got to go to is the sealing of Sarah May Moss to her family. Her mom is Jerry's cousin and someone that has become quite dear to my heart as well being that we were able to work closely at the Orthodontists office that I work at now. They had been trying for years to have a baby, just wasn't taking...they tried invitro....not sure if I spelled that right...they pretty much tried everything you can think of. They then ended up trying to adopt...had a heart breaking experience where a mom chose another family at the last minute and didn't tell Marissa till she was at the hospital expecting to be a mom that day. Finally on Valentines day they got the call they were finally going to be parents. Sarah is beautiful. Finally after 7 months are so everything is both permanent legally and and spiritually. They were sealed in the Las VEgas temple this month and it was just so amazing to be able to witness it.

When they brought her in with the white dress and pink pacifier my heart just about beat out of my chest. Later there was refreshments and a gathering at someone's house and Cohen and Sarah were so funny to watch.

This is Marissa and Sarah...Proud Mama!

We also go to go to my niece Mia's 1 year birthday party!!! It was fun...lots of family...food, water games and what not...and of course cake in the face!

Mia is walking now and you can tell Cohen is jealous. They are two peas in a pod.

Another wonderful thing is that my sister Jackie came out to visit me from provo.

It's the first time I had seen her since she'd come back from Africa. So it was a neat weekend. I apologize, i recognize there are few pictures ever of me...mainly Cohen and Jerry :) ha ha...I'm usually the camera obsessed one and the one that remembers to take pictures...so there you have it.
Anyways we had tons of fun, went to the pool, a wedding reception and just got a lot of much needed sister time in. I miss her I wish she were closer....I wish ALL of my family were much closer together.

And finally....
I saved this for last because technically this October news....TODAY news actually. JOSH AND JODY HAD THEIR BABY!!! Madelyn Elizabeth Moser was born at 9 somethin this morning :). at 7lbs 4oz., 20 inches long, 12 days early, and lots of black hair!!! STINKIN CUTIE!!! Mom and baby are both doing well!

So that was exciting news!

Here are just a couple random cute pictures of just life in general this month!!

7 Months Old!

I can't even believe how fast time is going by. It seemed like when I was pregnant 9 months seemed like 9 years......and now I feel like I'm gonna blink and it will be here! My life feels like it is in fast forward and Cohen changes so much. As far as milestones..

* I can't remember in my last blog if I mentioned this or not...bare with me if I did :)....but Cohen got his first tooth AND learned how to hold his own bottle while we were in Virginia. Very exciting stuff.

* He is trying so hard to crawl....he's starting to get the positioning on his hands and knees.....which is an improvement...because before it looked like he was just swimming ..but he understands that his knees have to be under him...he just hasn't figured out the mechanics of going from there. It's funny to watch him...he concentrates so hard.

* He loves books.....

Loves being read to. Then when he starts losing interest :).....he loves to EAT the book....then he loves to open and close it over and over again. It's pretty funny.

*The eating of solid foods is getting better...but he is the most A.D.D. eater ever!!! The first couple bites he's so into it...then it's every thing I can do to stop looking at other people in the room, playing with his high chair, staring at the fan trying to grab my spoon....it's so funny so as you can see in the first picture...It can be a pretty messy task. :)

As for what's been going on since he's turned 7 months...well, the other day at around 3a.m. I started tossing and turning...and felt so sick to my stomach. I threw up....Jerry started feeling sick....he threw up...then I threw up....then he threw up.....Cohen was in the next room...his little cough turned into a big cough....he sounded like a seal. He was pullin at his ears and crying.... He had weird bumps appear on his legs......so Jerry and I in all our sickness...were like...we have to get this kid to the dr...I had work, he had school....Cohen was so sick.....I was starting to feel a little better so I took Cohen. I was fine when I first got there but we were waiting for like 40 minutes and by the time they called his name...I stood up and got super super super hot, I felt like I was going to pass out...I could hardly hold him...It was so scary...I got into the room with the nurse and she told me to strip him....all the sudden I had to leave him in there with her and run...I had zero control over my body ....K...not to be so graphic but I had diarhea so freakin bad........I went back to the room...the nurse was like are you okay...I looked in the mirror and my face was white. She told me to pick him up and bring him to the scale to weigh him on....I could hardly stand let alone pick him up...I felt like such a mess...I wanted to cry and cry and cry....trying to hold it together....I got him over there....I then had to run to the bathroom again....puking my guts out....I came out so embarrassed...the nurse smiled and asked if I was pregnant....the NERVE ha ha....jk...I told her that my hsbnad was having the same thing happen right now.....she thinks it was food poisoning......probably.. Anyways....the doctor came in told me that Cohen had the Croop and an ear infection...but also said that he was the happiest sicky that he'd ever seen. ha ha...that's my boy...CERTAINLY did not get that from me. He gave us the prescriptions and told us we could go.I sat there and thought about the long hallway, the elevator, all the way out to the car....It felt 2 miles away. I sat there and just prayed that I had the strength to get out of there holding him safely....I got to the car....When I got to my apt. I called Jerry to come down and take him out of the car. he came down and ran up stairs and puked again in the toilet...I did not make it so far however....I so glamorously started to hurl in the front yard of our apt. complex. I got upstairs and jerry and I looked at each other...and the prescriptions in our hands that had to be filled....and we wanted to die. Finally I stopped trying to do things my self and I called Corby (a wonderful lady in our ward) and sobbed....and told her what was happening. She got my relief society president to pick up our prescriptions for us...she also brought over some ginger ale and saltine crackers.... Then later on when Corby got home from work she offered to take Cohen for a couple hours so we could take a nap. I couldnt believe how hard it was to take care of him in that state.I mean it was doable with Jerry AND me...but certainly not for one of us and took all we had for both of us. Anyways then our home teachers came and gave us a blessing. We have angels in our ward, I didn't think I'd ever need them so bad, but was amazed with the love and support that they showed us. We are very blessed. We went to sleep....and in the morning...Cohens cough was sounding a little better...still there....but didn't sound as croopy...Jerry and I both felt a ton better...still a little achy, sore and tired...but I was able to go to work and Jerry was able to really be a daddy and get his homework done. So all is well. Funny Now that i look back at it...but holy cow I had never felt so helpless.

ANYWAYS......

Cohen continues to be such a bright spot in our lives. Words can't ever adequately express what he means to us.

Goin Home

Jerry , Cohen and I got to take a much needed getaway back to my hometown in Virginia! It was wonderful! 75-85 degrees the whole time. The first night we got there we went to Hannah Sweeney's wedding. I was pretty close to her family growing up and it was so neat to see her all grown up. It was a beautiful reception. I was greatful we could make it. The next night we went to Firemans field (baseball field) where they had an army band putting on a free concert. It was all pop music. So we took a blanket and some lawn chairs and just had a nice time...except for the mosquito factor...the only thing i do NOT miss about home!!!!

Then the day we've been waiting for for 2 years!!!!! My brother Tyler came home from his mission!!!! He looked so good. You can tell he felt a little awkward at first but he snapped out of that soon enough. Such a goof ball....love him to pieces and it was SOOOOOOOO nice to be able to be there for the event. We also got to see him give his homecoming talk in church and it's just so neat to see how much he's grown into himself and in the gospel. He hadn't met Cohen yet so that was neat too!

We all decided that we wanted to go to the beach so we backed up the car and headed off to Ocean City Maryland for 3 days and 2 nights. It's about 4 hours away from my house. The weather was perfect...um, so perfect that Jerry and I both got sunburns on top of our mosquito bites. ha ha. sucks! Such is life though right!? we chilled on the beach all day and walked on the boardwalk and went to a free concert on the beach, it was Jimmy Buffett Tribute band. They were descent as far as their music went but...not so funny...and they were trying to be :) really hard. ha ha. Saw some sidewalk performers...had some pretty funny magicians out. Cohen went on walks w/g-ma and g-pa each morning....and just loved it.

We decided since Cohen is now 6 months old we wanted to take a few cute photos...I know, your thinking...this is the most photographed kid EVER!!! :) I'm a proud mama what can I say! He hit a couple milestones on our trip! HE GOT HIS FIRST TOOTH!!! Yes on the bottom. It's very exciting. He also learned (thanks to aunt Hannah) how to hold his bottle all by himself! He's getting so big so fast...I told him to stop it :(. He sure is a fun little guy!

The rest of the time we just chilled at my parents house, relaxed by the pool, had a coming home party for Tyler......It was wonderful....

SO hard to come back to the real world.

6 MONTHS OLD!!!

I cannot believe how fast time is going by. Cohen is already 6 months and he is just so funny. I think I've told you that he's found his "voice"....well now he's found his scream...he doesn't use it when he's upset or mad....but just so he can here it. It's usuallly when he's in the best mood that we hear "aAAAAHH AAAAAH aAAAH" (high pitch of course). He doesn't like it when mom and dad leave the room....he likes all eyes on him all the time....sheesh you'd think he was an only child! oh wait :).....he is.He loves story time, more because he likes to suck on the book...not so much listen :). He is sitting up all by himself and gets more and more sturdy every day. The diaper changin is becoming less and less of a desirable chore.....being that we have introduced more formula to his diet on top of solid foods.....so uh....ew. He is also starting to like to see other lil' people his size. He loves his cousins....and they love him to death ( uh...literally) ha ha. He'll be a tough kid ha ha! Anyways...we are going to Virginia on Thursday and we are sooooo excited. My brother is coming home off his mission and it will also be a much needed break for my hard studyin husband and my full time work and mommy schedule. We are excited to take Cohen out there!
